Good scarce tan leather example by Hobson & Son. The flap bearing die-stamped blackened brass laurel sprays surmounted by crowned ‘MR’ cypher with ‘20’ resting on a scroll inscribed ‘ARTISTS’, the conjoined heads of Mars and Minerva and ‘CUM MARTE MINERVA’ within the sprays. Pouch comple with closure tong and belt loops and impressed with bears maker's name.
Badge designed by J.W. Wyon the famous medal designer who served as a private in the Corps. Unit raised as 38th Middlesex RV, renumbered 20th in 1880. Attached to Rifle Brigade in 1881 and became 28th County of London (Artists Rifles) in 1908. 1947 became 21 Special Air Service (Artists)
