1st VB Leicestershire Regiment Victorian Officer’s 1885 helmet plate

A very fine and scarce silvered example. Crowned star mounted with laurel sprays and Garter; crimson velvet centre mounted with three gilt lions in pale with silver label. Mounted on the base of the wreath, a gilt tri-part scroll inscribed “THE LEICESTERSHIRE REGIMENT” with supplementary scroll below “1ST VOLUNTEER BATTALION”. Three loops to reverse.
