Royal Navy Victorian 1863 hallmarked silver bosun’s call Whistle.
A fine and rare example by Henry Hyde Aston of Regent Place, Birmingham bearing full Birmingham hallmarks. Each end of the barrel shaped buoy bearing crowned fouled anchor on a lined ground; the keel ornamented with skilfully hand engraved scrollwork.
During this period, The Royal Navy was involved in the second Maori War in New Zealand.
