 A fine and scarce die-stamped silvered example circa 1901-08 by Samuel Brothers, Outfitters, London. Laurel sprays surmounted by a crown resting on a tablet inscribed “MIDDLESEX” encircling a Maltese cross, ball finials to the points and lions between the arms, bearing circlet inscribed “RIFLE” with laurel spray above, centre dome with applied strung bugle. Between the bottom arm the base of the wreath, a scroll inscribed “REGIMENT”. Four screw posts to reverse, complete with backing plate.
