1st Gurkha Rifles Officer’s helmet plate circa 1891-1906

Fine rare Victorian/Egwardian die-stamped white metal eight pointed star mounted with blackened laurel sprays and five pointed star with raised flat centre bearing applied blackened crossed kukris surmounted by 1; loops.
Became 1st Prince of Wales’s Own Gurkha Rifles in 1906 when he visited India, then 1st King George’s Own Gurkha Rifles when he ascended the throne upon Edward VII’s death in 1910.
