Fine rich gilt die-stamped example worn on the Quilted pattern shako circa 1861-69. Crowned star mounted with the Garter; the finely seeded centre pierced with stencilled numerals 31. Horizontal loops.
31st Foot (Huntingdonshire) became 1st Bn. East Surrey Regt. on Friday 1st July, 1881.
