A good scarce post 1953 example comprising a cotton bunting double sided Union flag; the centre of each side printed with a horizontal sword surmounted by St. Edward’s crown. Crimson Morocco leather sleeve. Minor service wear. Approx 12 x 5 1/2 inches.
This design was granted in 1911 following a petition by the Duke of Bedford on 25th February 1910 to the King, through the Home Secretary Winston Churchill, as until this point the Union flag alone could be used.
