7th Somerset Rifle Volunteer Corps Victorian OR’s kepi badge C1859

A fine scarce die-stamped blackened brass crowned strung bugle with white metal “7” between the strings. Three loops (a little pinched) to reverse.
Raised at Keynsham in 1859, grouped with several other corps on 27th August 1860 as 1st Admin. Battalion at Bath. Consolidated as 1st Somersetshire RV’s 24th February 1880
