A fine die-stamped blackened post 1879 example, with burnished silver highlights. Crowned star mounted with circlet inscribed “BORDER RIFLE VOLUNTEERS”; to the centre, the crowned heart with scroll above inscribed “DOE OR DIE”. Two screw posts to reverse retaining hooped securing nuts.
