Northamptonshire & Rutland Militia Victorian Officer’s shako plate.

A superb example circa 1861-69. Crowned silvered star mounted with rich gilt Garter with red translucent enamel Cross of St. George.  Above the Garter, a gilt scroll inscribed "NORTHAMPTONSHIRE" with drooped floral ends , below another inscribed "& RUTLAND MILITIA" with floralk ends meeting top scroll. Below the bottom scroll, the Horse Shoe of Rutland. Retains both horizontal loops to reverse.
