A fine example by WG bearing Birmingham hallmarks, worn by Lieutenant T.N.F. Davenport. Shamrock wreath bearing numerous honours surmounted by a crown resting on a scroll inscribed “QUIS SEPARABIT”. Within the wreath, a Maid of Erin Harp over the Sphinx on a tablet inscribed “EGYPT”. At the base of the wreath a strung bugle with a scroll resting on the strings inscribed “ROYAL IRISH RIFLES”. Three screw posts to reverse. Converted, whilst in service, from Victorian to King’s Crown. Complete with backing plate.
