A very fine and scarce die-stamped heavily silver-plated example on two screw posts. Crowned wreath half laurel, half oak, resting on tri-part scroll “XTH SURREY RIFLES” with shield from Royal Arms below. Within the wreath a strap “ARMA PACIS FULCRA” with vertically divided shield to the centre. Two screw posts to reverse.
Formed at Bermondsey February 1860; in March 1883, now as ‘A’ and ‘B’ Companies of 6th Surrey RV, redesignated 3rd Bn. Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment.
