A fine and scarce die-stamped blackened example on loops with burnished highlights. Maltese cross with lions between the arms, surmounted by a crown resting on a scroll inscribed “1803-1859”. To the centre of the cross, a circlet inscribed “FIRST SURREY RIFLES”; within the circlet, a strung bugle with “1” between the strings. Beneath the lower arm of the cross a scroll inscribed “CONCORDIA VICTRIX”. Original green backing cloth.
