A fine and scarce die-stamped white metal example on toned black loops (North and South). Crowned Tara brooch, the upper part inscribed “ROYAL MEATH”. (KK 1294)
Date of first commission to the regiment was that of its Colonel Thomas Marquis of Headfort on 25th April 1793. Headquarters at Limerick. Became 5th Bn. Leinster Regiment on Friday 1st July 1881.
