Royal Horse Guards Officers cuirass.

A good rare example comprising of front and back polished steel plates complete with gilt brass shoulder scales. The front plate is edged with gilt brass and studs. The centre is with a high comb. The back plate is again with gilt brass edging and studs. Also with the shoulder strap attachments in the form of two silvered lion’s head boss’s. The straps are with silvered floral studs and lion’s heads. Lining of red grained leather and velvet edging. With some minor age wear, backing to the shoulder straps loose but present.
