Attributed to: William Wilkinson who was born in Bolton Lancashire and enlisted at the age of 18 in 1809. He was with the Regiment on the 6th April 1812, when the 94th part of the 3rd Division escalated the castle walls of Badajoz, during this night attack the Regiment lost 156 men. He remained with the Regiment after the end of the Napoleonic War and was discharged in December 1818 at Belfast. He later was admitted into Kilmainham as a pensioner and died in 1879.
