London Scottish Officer’s silver shoulder belt plate circa 1910

A fine rare silver example. Rectangular finely seeded plate mounted with crowned thistle wreath superimposed on the Cross of St.Andrew. Within the wreath, a circlet inscribed “LONDON SCOTTISH”; rampant lion mounted to centre. Across the bottom of the wreath, a two part scroll inscribed “STRIKE SURE”.  Reverse, impressed “SILVER” retains original fixings, comprising two hooks at the top and two studs at the bottom.
