A good scarce die-stamped white metal example circa 1881-1901.  Crowned star bearing laurel sprays and mounted with circlet inscribed “WEST SURREY” and ornamented with laurel spray at the base; brass Paschal Lamb to voided centre. Two of three loops to reverse.
Raised at Guildford 18th April, 1759 as 2nd Surrey Militia; redesignated 3rd Bn on Friday 1st July, 1881.
