A good rare example, of black patent leather or American cloth, mounted with small patent leather dome representing the cockade. Gilt metal hook and ring for caplines. Gilt lion’s head bosses for chin chain. Roan leather sweatband and crimson silk lining . Silk element of lining slightly defective. Complete with gilt gimp chin chain, backing material absent. The overall condition is good, patent leather dulled with some blistering, interior with service and age wear.
