A good scarce OR's die-stamped white metal example circa 1880-85. Crowned star bearing laurel sprays and strap inscribed  “2nd Hants. Rifle Volunteers”; voided centre bearing shield charged with Crown and Rose (from Arms of Southampton). Three loops to reverse
HQ at Southampton. Became a VB of the Regiment on Friday 1st July 1881; redesignated 2nd VB on 18th August 1885.
