51st (2nd Yorks, W Riding) Officer’s Albert shako plate circa 1844-5

Fine rare example gilt crowned star, the principal rays bearing battle honours, mounted with a wreath half laurel, half palm; within the wreath a French horn with seeded gilt “51” to domed centre. On the junction of the wreath, a scroll inscribed “Peninsula”. Reverse retains both original horizontal loops and all four wires behind the crown. (Top pearl to crown absent otherwise very fine).
