Volunteer Decoration cased Victorian miniature medal

Fine unmarked silver example instituted in 1892. Oval silver oak wreath with gilt crowned VR cypher to voided centre. Suspended by a green silk ribbon from its pinback oakleaf ornamented suspenion bar. Housed in its brown leather fitted case with blue velvet recessed inner base and cream silk lined lid.
